Both experienced (“pro”) muralists and first-timers (“newbies”) are encouraged to apply. Participating in Sunny Dayz is more than just painting a wall — it’s about changing the world around you and building relationships that last. 246 artists have painted in Sunny Dayz to date. Be the next one!

2027 MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Teens can totally paint murals.
Apply to join a cohort of 10–15 young Oklahoma artists ages 16–19 who are creative, curious to learn, and excited about public art. Students from Pottawatomie County will be prioritized to participate in the seven-month program, which will culminate at Sunny Dayz Mural Festival in Shawnee on June 5, 2027.
Teens will receive a hands-on introduction to the world of muralism and public art. Participation includes monthly Zoom meetings with professional muralists, educators, and other arts professionals to learn about the full mural-making process and creative careers. It all leads up to Sunny Dayz Mural Festival 2027, where teens will create small murals with guidance from Sunny Dayz leadership and professional artists.

Sunny Dayz Mural Festival is seeking committed leaders to join our Board of Directors.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about public art, community development, equity in the arts, and the long-term cultural and economic impact of creative placemaking. Board members provide leadership, strategic guidance, and support in areas such as fundraising, community partnerships, governance, and organizational growth.
You do not need to be an artist to serve on the board. We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds.
Sunny Dayz is built on collaboration, and our board reflects that same spirit of shared investment in community and creativity.
